For this price you can't get a single pad from Audiotechnica store, while here you get the whole set. Material quality is great and they are very comfortable. The pads are just a bit thinner, but they just might need time to expand from being packaged tight. The sound is identical (or if your old pads are ruined, better than what you had). If you're just replacing pads it's simple, but if you're doing the headband too you will need to disassemble the headphones and unsolder and later resolder the right driver so you can route the cable through the headband. It's not too hard, just go slow so you don't break the hinges when disassembling. Honestly, I can't recommend the kit enough, I've fallen in love with my M40x all over again. Will buy more for future replacements.
