The sound of this driver is very detailed and balanced, it's a well behaved driver that holds its composure solidly even in closed back environments. I've run this driver in both and open and closed back headphones and both projects came out really solid. P.S. if you remove the outer dampening paper ring you can get some really solid, impactful and detailed bass without the need for much in the way housing structure dampening.
