Carbon fiber is a new type of high-strength fiber material with a carbon content of over 95%. It is flexible on the outside and rigid on the inside, lighter than aluminum yet stronger than steel.

It not only possesses the inherent characteristics of carbon materials, such as fatigue resistance, high-temperature resistance, and a low thermal expansion coefficient, but also combines the softness and processability of textile fibers, making it highly suitable for the technical characteristics of speaker cones. In addition, carbon fiber cones offer good thermal conductivity and electromagnetic shielding properties.

Following the launch of the Ququan fiberglass subwoofer series, we have been focusing on the development of a carbon fiber mid-bass series.

Every product has its own character and mission. For this mid-bass driver, we brought forth innovation by adopting a carbon fiber cone — a material typically reserved for high-end speakers. From initial material selection and design to mold making and trial runs, we have invested tremendous effort and manpower, striving to create a sound quality that satisfies everyone.

Carbon fiber is flexible yet rigid, with a highly stable structure. For the same volume, it is lighter than both paper and metal cones, making it particularly well-suited for mid-bass applications. The midrange vocal performance is commendable. In essence, it combines the virtues of both paper and metal cones — the sound is clean, articulate, and remarkably comfortable to the ear.

The 90 mm magnet paired with a 25 mm voice coil magnetic circuit gives the driver impressive low-end performance. With a frequency response of 72–8,000 Hz, it offers a wide bandwidth and can be used as a mid-bass driver in a two-way system or as a midrange in a three-way design.

The speaker basket uses a cast aluminum frame, which is non-magnetic, sturdy, and stable, reducing secondary resonance. The highly polished washer and T-yoke have also been chosen after extensive selection and comparison, making an optimal overall choice in pursuit of finer detail in the listening experience.

Both the cone and the dust cap are made of carbon fiber. Carbon fiber is a material that has been widely used in many industries, yet it is still relatively uncommon in loudspeaker drivers. Through extensive testing, we have found that carbon fiber offers distinct advantages when used for mid-bass cones. It combines the gentle, lingering warmth of paper cones with the metallic character of metal cones.

The 90mm Y35 magnet guarantees the speaker’s robust driving power. The speaker features high sensitivity and is capable of handling large dynamics and high power. We must ensure that the speaker delivers ample bass while maintaining tight control and agility — without any muddiness or sluggishness.
